Who Remembers the Country Store?
There was a time when there were only men in the club and all were in business or professionals and all wore suites to meetings.
Once a year, or every 18 months as the Country Store was scheduled, each member had to donate a suite for the sale in the building that was replaced by Bank America.
If you forgot to bring a suit they would make you leave your jacket at the meeting and either bring in your trousers later or bring in an older suite.
Guy Miller was a member and owned Miller’s Men’s Wear so I assume he had something to do with the program.
As recalled by Reed Hadley.
