Officer Elijah Heston began his Law Enforcement Career with the Longview Police Department (LPD) in November of 2017. Prior to that, he was a volunteer Police Cadet for LPD and a member of the Cowlitz County Search and Rescue Team. Officer Heston has been flying Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) since early 2018, and in 2020 he joined LPD’s UAS Team as an FAA Certified Part 107 Pilot. Since then, Officer Heston has assisted in growing and developing the UAS team for the department. In addition to this, Officer Heston also serves as a Field Training Officer, Department Armorer, and as a Robot Operator in support of the Lower Columbia SWAT Team.
