About Jonathan
Jonathan Williams, lifelong Longview resident (with the exception of 4 years Active-Duty Army). Married, 1 son (serving Active-Duty Army 13 years, currently stationed at Ft. Stewart Ga), 1 daughter living in Longview, 6 grandchildren. Currently – Faculty Department Chair and Instructor at Portland Community College in the Diesel Service Technology program. Board Member of Veterans Back 40 Adventure. Veterans Back 40 is an all volunteer Veteran run non-profit which exists to provide a supportive and healthy outlet for Veterans seeking to reconnect with the camaraderie found in military service. This is done through outdoor activities, primarily through off-road and adventure style motorcycle riding. We are a program with an edge to it that believes in the power of the “Campfire” and “Dirt Therapy” In June of 2023, Jonathan led 5 Veterans and 1 Active-Duty motorcycle riders on a 3 week 5600 mile round trip ride to Tuktoyaktuk and the Arctic Ocean located in Canada’s NW Territories. Two Emmy award winning videographers accompanied the riders collecting ride footage and also interviewing the riders and Veterans and Active-Duty from around the world. This footage (over 5 terabytes) is currently being edited into an 1.5 hour long documentary designed to raise awareness to the epidemic of Veteran and Active-Duty suicide.
