About Darr
Darr Kirk grew up on Camas and attended Clark Community College for one year before transferring to WSU, where he graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice and Sociology. He moved to Cowlitz County in 1993 when he began his Law enforcement career with the Kelso Police Department. Darr retired from the Kelso Police Department in 2024 after serving 31 years, the last 5 as the Chief of Police. He was hired as the Executive Director for Cowlitz 911 in August of 2024. Darr has been married to his wife, Melissa, for nearly 28 years and they have two adult children, Kahler (23) and Riley (21).
