About Dan
Dan Meyer was the third child in a family of ten children. He grew up west of Longview and graduated from R.A Long H.S. in 1961. He had a short enlistment in the Navy and then spent eleven years in Phoenix, Arizona. He has lived in Kelso for the last 40 years and served 10 years on the Kelso city council. The house he lives in was built in 1910. He and his wife Nancy restored the house to have much of the style that it might have had in 1910. He was a computer programmer and system analyst his entire working career. He began programming computers in 1964. He worked as a programmer for many different companies including electric utilities, banks, savings and loans, steel manufacturing, home builders, yacht builders, paper mills and government agencies. One of his hobbies is woodworking. He has built furniture, cabinets, clocks, a scale model cannon and a street organ.
