About Amy
Throughout high school and college, Amy Johnson performed in many musical groups including band, orchestra, jazz band, brass quintets and woodwind quintets, even founding two such groups at the University of Washington. Amy has always been drawn to sharing music with children, and she began her working career as a piano teacher in Issaquah, WA. After completing her degree at the University of Washington, Mrs. Johnson worked for over a decade as an electrical engineer in the electric utility industry. She stepped back from that work to offer more support to her own children and their Catholic school. She has been a volunteer musician for local parishes for nearly twenty years and spent five years at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Vancouver as an assistant band director. Amy is now in her 5th year at St. Rose School where she teaches music, band, and advanced Math.
